Chapel of the Annunziata in Nocara

The Chapel of the Annunziata in Nocara rises on the outskirts of Nocara with the ancient walls of the village, now vanished, and in the vicinity of the polygon tower.

Because of the steep slope of the terrain, the Chapel of the Annunziata in Nocara rises on two floors. Before the construction of adjacent buildings the crypt was accessible directly from the outside. Today, from the entrance to the street you access the current ground floor. The exterior of the Chapel is made up of a single east-facing rectangular nave, covered with wooden trusses, separated by a triumphal arch through the presbytery. The crypt is accessed by a trap door on the floor of the presbytery. This is formed by a small room bordered by three sides of arcosolia and on the fourth side opened the front door.
